Love Story for Puppets - I am currently working on a picture book inspired by Javanese Puppets. The story is a light fantasy told through watercolor paints and collage, which would hopefully expose a younger generation to the art and culture coming from this particular corner of the world.

In 2012 Malala Yousafzai, a young girl from Pakistan was targeted by the al queda, who seek to keep girls from being educated. She survived the attack and became and international symbol for peace, activism, and girls' rights. I wanted to have a conversation with her. By making this book I feel I am closer to her ideals.
The fan fold book is bound in linen and buckram. It is hand written on parchment vellum, which is floated over red-stained block-prints. It is approximately 4" square.
The book has 11 handwritten pages and is one of a kind.
